The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union (SVGTU) will be hosting its annual March and Rally this afternoon.
Today’s event marks the culmination of activities for Teachers Solidarity Week, which commenced on Monday November 9th, 2015.
The March is scheduled to commence from 2:00pm at the Peace Memorial Hall, and will be followed by a rally at Heritage Square.
Speeches at the rally will come several persons including president of the SVG Teacher’s Union, Mr. Oswald Robinson.
The Teachers Union hosts the March and Rally annually to commemorate the November 14th, 1975 ‘tear gassing’ of its members during a period when they had taken industrial action to highlight poor working and salary conditions.
