Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has refuted claims that only supporters of his party the Unity Labour Party (ULP) have been recipients of PRYME grants. We hear more from Dr. Gonsalves:
“Over 2000 persons have applied for PRYME, near 300 have already received, you want to tell me that is just ULP people get?
If you constitute 53 percent of the population, wouldn’t you expect ULP people to get?”
The Prime Minister went on to ask persons making these claims to “stop this foolishness” and to “allow the process to work.”
Promotion of Youth Micro Enterprises (PRYME) is program created by the Ministry of Finance with the intention of contributing to the empowerment of young entrepreneur the age of 40. It has since been expanded entrepreneurs over the age of 40 in response to the COVID-19.
