Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves during a lecture at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, made known to the public, the position of the Government and that of his party, The Unity Labour Party (ULP) on the threats of violence and destruction of property associated with electioneering.

“There have been reports of disturbing incidents of threats of violence, destruction of billboards, damage to property, and other illegal activities, arising from or connected to the competitive process of electioneering.

I want to make it absolutely clear that the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the party; which I lead, the Unity Labour Party, that we are unalterably opposed to any of these threats of violence, any destruction of billboards, any damage to property, any other illegal activity, arising from or connected with a free and democratic and peaceful process of electioneering.” Gonsalves said
