Vincentians are being called on to show generosity this Christmas season. The call comes from none other than Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, who made the call for citizens of this country to consider sharing more with each other.

“At this time I also want to ask those whose circumstance permit, that they help a family, a neighbour, I know some persons have a number of challenges of their own and may not be able to help as much others.” Gonsalves said.

“There are people who only have a few items, I mean they may have, more yams and dasheen than they can actually reasonably deal with and they will send me one or two yams.” Prime Minister Gonsalves stated.

“We have to be giving and sharing at this time, it doesn’t make sense you go to the church and you say look after your neighbour but your neighbour who is next you and who is showing signs of difficulty, and you can afford to help but don’t go to help.”

Prime Minister Gonsalves went on to say that “the best form solidarity, the most meaningful form, is not to help from your surplus, but from whatever little you have.”
