Thirty-three year old sailor of Owia Rodney Thomas has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and drug trafficking, an official report from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force’s Public Relations and Complaints department has confirmed.
According to police investigations, in Owia on Saturday January 22nd, 2022, Thomas allegedly had in his possession 3623 grammes of cocaine with intent to supply it to another.
The Owia sailor was further charged with having the controlled drug in his possession for the purpose of drug trafficking.
He appeared before the serious offences court on Monday to answer to the charges and plead not guilty. Bail was granted in the sum of $30,000 with one surety.
Thomas was ordered to report to the Owia Police Station every Monday to Friday between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, as well as surrender all travel documents. Stop notices have been posted at all sea and airports.
The matter was adjourned April 4th 2022.
