Major infrastructural work is being executed in the constituency of South Leeward.

The work, which covers 2.3 kilometres of road leading from Rillan Hill to Twenty Hill, to the bridge at Hope, and comes in at a cost of 6.5 million dollars is being done under the National Road Rehabilitation Project.

Community Activist Grenville Williams, emphasized the importance of this road network in particular. While he said that this is a major investment, he noted that this is just one element of the area’s development.

Mr. Williams, in an interview with the Agency for Public Information, said that this is all part of ensuring the building and maintenance of proper road networks and supplements other development in the area.

The work started in January and is expected to be completed by October of this year.

The scope of work being executed includes the widening of the road n and installation of culverts and using concrete at certain areas, to ensure that roads last longer.
