The NTRC has launched the 9th edition of their iCODE784 competition. Speaking at the virtual launch yesterday, the NTRC’s Consumer and Public Relations Manager Ms. Rhea Lewis said that one of the main aims of the competition is “to develop the entrepreneurial skills of the young generation by looking at the needs in our society and finding ICT solutions for them”.
Miss Lewis during her presentation discussed the three stages of the competition. The first of those stages began on Wednesday, with the launch of the competition, which also saw registration open up. There will be two ways of registering for the 2021 edition of the iCODE784 competition according to the NTRC’s Consumer and Public Relations Manager. The first of two options being registration via the NTRC’s website (www.ntrc.vc), the second option for registration will be via forms that are accessible via the NTRC’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The deadline for all submissions will be October 8th, 2021 at 4 PM.
Miss Lewis then goes on speak about phase two of the competition.
“Phase two is the preliminary round, this is the first judging stage of the competition and it will begin on October 19th, 2021 starting with the secondary idea category. October 20th will be the secondary mobile application category and this phase will come to an end on October 21st with the open category presentations being judged. The top teams from all three categories will then progress to the finals”. Lewis said.
Phase three, the final stage of the competition will take place on November 16th 2021.

Secondary Idea category:
1st Place – $2000
2nd Place – $1000
3rd Place – $800
Secondary Mobile App category:
1st Place – $4000
2nd Place – $2000
3rd Place – $1500
Open category:
1st Place – $5000
2nd Place – $2500
3rd Place – $1500
There will also be prizes for the participants’ schools as well as their mentors.
