There is no war taking place between the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) and SVG’s private promoters.

This was made clear by the Chairman of the CDC, Ricardo Adams during a recent press conference held at the corporation’s conference room.

Mr. Adams noted that there has never been a case of the CDC denying promoters an opportunity to host an event.

“There’s this misconception that a segment of the media and population run with that the CDC and private promoters have this war going. And for the last few years, every time it’s raised, I keep asking for somebody to tell me one promoter who’s been denied an opportunity to do an event because the CDC has blocked them. And nobody has been able to come up with a promoter that the CDC has blocked from having an event.

The only thing that the CDC has ever asked is that the space for the cultural events be respected. So I just want to get that clear.” Mr. Adams said.

Highlighting the positive nature of the CDC’s relationship with private promoters, Mr. Adams made mention of the fact that in some cases that CDC events would be advertised at private promoters’ events, and vice versa.
