The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) is conducting a Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Audit Verification Workshop today August 14, 2018.

This workshop is organized in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

The objective of the Workshop is to present the Draft Comprehensive Disaster Management Audit Report for review, and to validate the results obtained from interviews with stakeholders.

The Comprehensive Disaster Management Audit was conducted in July, 2018 with National Stakeholders to review the National Disaster Management Programme (inclusive of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery).

The Audit assessed St. Vincent and the Grenadines progress in implementing the Comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy and the UNISDR Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Today’s Workshop is taking place at NEMO’s Conference and the facilitator is consultant Ms. River Providence.

The results of the workshop will be used strategically to develop National Disaster Risk Management Programmes.
