Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Carlos James, during a press conference held to update the public on the status of Cruise Tourism in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, also took the time to discuss the protocols that visitors who arrive by yacht will be expected to adhere to; explaining why they were different from the cruise passenger protocols.

“As it relates to the protocols for yachting, the cruise tourism protocols wouldn’t apply. What would apply then is that, quite naturally the usual 48 hour period of quarantine, whether it’s on their board or in a hotel or tourism approved facility.

But they will be free to walk around St. Vincent and the Grenadines and to engage and take advantage of the hospitality of our people and the beautiful scenery of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. So they are not restricted as to where they can go, just to differentiate that from cruise tourism” he said.

Minister James explain that one of the reasons for cruise passengers having to separate protocols is that cruise passengers do not quarantine for 48 hours like the yacht visitors do, they instead disembark their ship the same day it arrives.
