Vincentians are being called on to put aside various factors that contribute to division among the population.

This call came from Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture Carlo James during his address at the National Heroes Day Wreath Laying ceremony.

“I challenge our people to raise their level of consciousness. Let us put aside the things that divide us most as a people; selfishness, political opportunism, and attempts to sow seeds of division. We owe those who made the sacrifices for our freedom, and it is our time to pay it forward and to continue the struggle for social justice.

The struggle demands self sacrifice and courage, it demands we prepare, and we be prepared to encounter resistance and adversity, that we do not allow those things to blind us.” Minister James said.
