The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to sign an agreement later this month with Rainforest Seafoods, the Caribbean’s largest processor and supplier of premium quality seafood, for the establishment of a conchs, lobster and fish packaging facility here.

Headquartered in Jamaica with operations in St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados and Belize, Rainforest is equipped to efficiently and consistently supply Caribbean and international markets with all of their seafood needs.

Speaking to reporters at a media conference earlier today, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said Rainforest Seafoods intends to construct a state-of-art processing facility valued at 3.5 million US dollars.

According to Dr. Gonsalves, the company will engage in the export of seafood products, but will also sell to local hotels and other entities.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister disclosed that the Input warehouse, is currently seeking to source three trawlers within the range of 200-250 thousand dollars.
