The Ministry of Education today commenced payment of the EC$500 gift to 772 students who sat the 2017 Examinations for their successful performance in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and Associate Degrees.

To be eligible for the award, CSEC students must have gained five passes (Grades One to Three) including Mathematics and English A.

CAPE students must have gained passes (Grades One to Five) in at least two two-Unit subjects as well as in the single Unit Communication Studies or Caribbean Studies in two consecutive years.

Students in the various Associate Degree programmes must have gained at least a B-average.

Of the recipients who gained Associate Degrees and will receive this award, 120 are from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College: 15 from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies; 47 from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education and 58 from the Division of Teacher Education.

Recipients of the award were asked to attend a handing over ceremony at the Villa Campus of the Community College at 9:30 this morning, with proof of identity bearing a photograph.

Recipients who were unable to attend the ceremony may collect their award at the Ministry of Education from tomorrow November 3, 2017, between 9:30am and 12:30pm, daily.
