The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) going forward will have to look to alternative ways of supplying water in certain parts of the country. This is according to the Chief Executive Officer of the CWSA, Mr. Garth Saunders.

“In the long term we are going to, in the CWSA, have to change the paradigm we normally have where we say we would not pump, we try not to have pumping done on any of our systems, where we will supply all water by gravity; that may not be the case any longer.” He said.

Saunders said for places in the North Windward constituency where the water sources and the villages are located on the flank of the volcano a new approach will have to be taken, which may be in the form of ground water sources or even desalination.
