Community nursing services in SVG has seen a ten percent increase in just about one week. This is according to Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves who made the disclosure during a call to Star Radio yesterday.
“The community nursing services, which, a week ago, they were at 63 percent, they are now at 73 percent. So there has been a jump of ten percent in a week or thereabout. So that is moving pretty well.” The Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves noted that back in mid-July of this year, that number was at just 20 percent.
Gonsalves then addressed the vaccination numbers in the hospital services.
“In the case of the hospital services, about nine or ten days ago they were at 64 percent, they have been lagging. For the whole period the hospital services have been lagging behind the community nursing services.” He said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves said that it is his expectation that by the 19th of this month that these vaccination numbers will surpass 80 percent.
