Dr. Simone Keizer Beache, this country’s Chief Medical Officer, during a recent call to the Issues at Hand program, aired on WEFM on Sundays, detailed the requirements which St. Vincent and the Grenadines is required to satisfy.
“Under the IHR we have requirements to allow for reporting, to not just IHR, also the WHO, also to COVAX. Because the major amount of vaccines we’ve had have been from the COVAX facility.
So we are required to, on a weekly basis report every person who is found to be positive for COVID-19 and we are required to report every dose of a vaccine given and every reaction that is reported.” The CMO said.
Dr. Keizer Beache noted that no matter the level of severity of the reaction SVG’s health authorities are required to report it.
