This country’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Simone Keizer Beache while appearing as a guest on VC3’s Roundtable Talk, detailed the difference between COVID-19 protocols put in place for travellers from the US and those from the UK.

“We have put the US into a high risk category and we have put the UK along with other countries into a medium risk category.

The CMO went on to detail the protocols in place for visitors travelling from the US.

“Anybody coming from the United States of America, transiting through the United States of America will have to come with a negative PCR test result and will have a test done on arrival and must be quarantined  in hotel for five days, paid for by themselves.”

Dr. Keizer Beache then went on to detail the protocols in place for visitors travelling from the UK and other medium risk countries.

“Somebody coming out of the United Kingdom or somebody coming out of Canada, that person may come with a PCR result or it will be done on arrival. When you come in on arrival, if you have a PCR test, you will not have a second test done unless it is determined by the port health staff that the test you are coming in with is not appropriate and then you will be sent home to do your 48 hours quarantine.”
