Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves while once again appealing to the nation to get vaccinated, in reference to the slow vaccine uptake said the SVG might be victim of its own success.
“Part of the problem in St. Vincent, we have been victims of our own success. We never locked down, we never had a state of emergency, we never had a curfew.”
Gonsalves during his address also debunked rumours that he was on the verge of announcing a curfew and then went on to once again encourage persons to get vaccinated.
“Let’s take the vaccine, it’s available and it may be available when you’re ready to take it. There is nothing wrong with the vaccine, and the benefits of taking the vaccine outweigh by far, any risks.” The Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves also made mention of the fact that the use of the vaccine is supported by all countries in the United Nations.
