On Tuesday March 16th, police arrested and jointly charged 39 year old farmer of Georgetown, Gordon Paines along with two Grenadian fishermen, 25 year old Michael Derrick and 18 year old Rozand Blarda with the offence of Drug Trafficking.
“According to investigations, the accused men allegedly had in their possession “17,252 grams of cannabis”. For the purpose of drug trafficking. The incident occurred at Union Island on March 15th 2021.” The police report said.
Paines, Derrick and Blarda appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday March 17th and plead not guilty to the charges. Paines was granted bail in the sum of EC $30,000.00.
Bail was denied to both Grenadian Nationals, but this is expected to be reviewed today.
