St. Vincent and the Grenadines is set to establish cold storage and distribution capacity for COVID-19 vaccines. This information came from the Minster of Health Hon. St. Clair Prince during the Budget 2021 debate.

“St. Vincent and the Grenadines is expected to receive, free of cost, vaccines for %20 of the population, that’s two doses per person, plus financial support to establish specialized cold storage and distribution capacity within the country.

The financial support I talked about also includes the procurement of special storage, that’s ultra cold freezers, from  -60°C to -90°C, also refrigerators, -16°C to -30°C.” The Minister said.

Minister Prince went on to discuss the transportation of the vaccines.

“The distribution system will include special transport, thermal shipping, transport boxes, dry ice packages, temperature monitoring sensors and digital data loggers, etc.

The Minister of Health said that special syringes, gloves and containers will be procured for the application of the vaccine. He said that a total of $1.9 Million had been allocated for various vaccine needs.
