St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded its 88th COVID-19 death, according to NEMO’s Health Services Subcommittee’s latest report from.

The deceased is a 90 year old male who tested positive for COVID-19 on January 10th; he was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and died of COVID-19 pneumonia on January 17th. He was unvaccinated.

Also confirmed by the Heath Services Subcommittee’s report were four new COVID-19 cases, as well as 84 new rapid antigen positive results.

29 recoveries were noted over the reporting period, leaving active cases of the virus in country at 878.

Twenty two patients are currently admitted for COVID-19 at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 ward. Of the twenty two patients, five are vaccinated, one is partially vaccinated and sixteen are unvaccinated.

There have been 6604 COVID-19 positive cases reported in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March of 2020.
