This country’s Minister of Health, Wellness, and the Environment, the Hon. St. Clair Prince during a press conference held yesterday, took the time to discuss the various COVID-19 related issues that are currently being faced.
“Some areas of concern are: Increasing positivity rates and absolute numbers, that’s very concerning of course; decreasing compliance with mask use, physical distancing and hand sanitization which I alluded to earlier; alarming trend of mass gatherings, people are beginning again to get together, without masks, without adherence to protocols.” Minister Prince said.
The Health Minister also mentioned low vaccine uptake as one of the issues being faced right now.
He then goes on talk about the effect of disinformation on the nation’s battle against COVID-19, debunking one notoriously false claim in the process.
“Disinformation, that’s a major culprit. Reports of deaths due to vaccines in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are incorrect, we said that before, we continue to say it, people have been putting out that information; it is not true.” Prince said.
