The Maria Holder Memorial Trust is further assisting this country by the purchase of two ambulances, expected to arrive here by the end of July.
Speaking at the formal commissioning of the MRI machine, representative of Barbadian based Trust, Peter Simmons-Casey said the organization is committed to enhancing health care and other areas of development within the Caribbean.
The Trust has been instrumental in the purchase of the MRI Machine at the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Centre as well as donations of equipment for the Maternity and Peadiatric ward, the Intensive Care Unit, Accident & Emergency Unit and the Outpatient Clinic.
The Trust also helped with a renovated kitchen facility, a central sterilizing unit, 130 beds and mattresses for Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre and essential medical equipment for three (3) district centre and Covid 29 relief to St Vincent and the Grenadines through the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Minister of Health Hon. St Clair Prince also thanked the Marial Holder Trust, noting the MRI machine “is at the apex of our imaging service” and that “.at no time in our history has health service has been so well equipped to handle the diagnostic demands of the public” Prince said.
