Police are investigating what appears to be a deliberate vehicle fire that left a man with severe burns early Sunday morning in Cay Bay, Sint Marteen.
According to Loop News, emergency services responded around 6:00 am after receiving multiple reports of a burning vehicle with someone trapped inside.
Upon arrival, first responders found a male victim suffering from serious burns to his upper body.
The Paramedics provided emergency care at the scene before transporting him to St Maarten Medical Centre for further treatment.
Preliminary investigations revealed the fire was intentionally set by an unknown suspect.
The victim was reluctant to cooperate with authorities; however, police have since developed leads regarding a possible suspect.
