Grenada has been elected to the Executive Board of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
On Tuesday April 20th 2021, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) elected Grenada, by acclamation, for the 3-year term. Grenada secured the only seat available to the Latin America and Caribbean Group and joins 13 other countries elected to serve on the Executive Board beginning January 1st 2022.
The Executive Board is the governing body of UNICEF, providing intergovernmental support and oversight to the organization, in accordance with the overall policy guidance of the United Nations General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council.
