The Government of Grenada has issued a reminder about the ongoing ban on importing older vehicles, emphasizing that the 2020 legislation remains actively enforced.

Under Statutory Rules and Orders (SRO) 43 of 2020, vehicles that are ten years or older cannot be imported into the country.

The regulation, which took effect on July 1st , 2020, continues to be strictly enforced at all ports of entry.

In a release, the Government Information Office said, “To ensure compliance, imported vehicles must have a manufactured date that is less than 10 years old at the time of landing in Grenada. Importers are strongly advised to verify the vehicle’s manufactured date.”

Officials emphasized that non-compliant vehicles cannot be released from customs control under any circumstances.

Therefore, to avoid financial loss and logistical complications, the government has urged importers to conduct thorough due diligence before purchasing vehicles for import.
