Barbara Gayle, a veteran court reporter for The Jamaica Gleaner, was found dead at her home in the Caymanas Country Club, St. Catherine, on Tuesday.
Police suspect foul play, with indications that she may have been murdered and her car stolen.
Gayle, who was recently honored by the Press Association of Jamaica (PSOJ) for her over four decades of service to journalism, was renowned for her coverage of high-profile court cases.
Her death has shocked the journalism community, and investigations are ongoing.
