A fully vaccinated 17-year-old girl is the latest to succumb to COVID-19 in Barbados, taking their death toll from the virus to 276.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Health, there have been 497 new COVID-19 positive cases recorded in Barbados from over 2000 tests conducted.

Of the new cases, 84 persons were under the age of 18 and 413 were 18 years and older.

The number of people in Barbados’ isolation facilities was 125, while 7,321 were in home isolation.

Under Barbados’ National Vaccinate Campaign Programme for COVID-19 69.2 per cent of the eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 54.1 per cent of 64.2 per cent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated.
