A training workshop was held on Monday, January 13 for over 100 early childhood education and early primary school teachers that focused on addressing developmental, language, and speech delays in children.
This initiative was organized in collaboration with Research England from the University of Reading, the Ministry of Health, and the St. Vincent Autism Society, with the Ministry of Education also actively involved.
Psychologist and organizer Kimberly Cambridge, stated that the workshop aims to equip educators with essential knowledge and strategies to effectively support children facing speech and language challenges as they enter school. Cambridge also said the event marked a vital step toward fostering inclusive education and ensuring all children receive the support they need.
Dr. Vishnu Nair and Dr. Emma Pagnamenta, both experienced speech and language therapists from the University of Reading, led the sessions.
