At the Paris 2024 closing ceremony, Hollywood star Tom Cruise made a dramatic entrance by descending from the Stade de France roof on a wire, thrilling spectators.
Dressed in a leather jacket and gloves, Cruise’s stunt was accompanied by a performance from musician H.E.R., who played the guitar and delivered a rendition of the US national anthem.
In a pre-recorded segment, Cruise traveled through Paris and the US, ending with him unfurling the Olympic colors at the Hollywood sign.
Thomas Bach, IOC President, praised the Paris Games and the athletes for their remarkable performances and the spirit of peace they fostered. The ceremony also featured Cruise taking the Olympic flag from gymnast Simone Biles and leaving on a motorbike, marking a vibrant send-off from Paris as the city handed over to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympics.
