Allison Ramey, a seasoned fisherman of Barrouallie, received a powerful 40 HP Yamaha Enduro Boat Engine as part of the Fleet Expansion Programme.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry and Labour, Saboto Caesar extended congratulations to Mr. Ramey and emphasized the need to meet the rising demand for fish products driven by the exponential growth of the tourism sector.
Additionally, he reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to bolstering the capabilities of fisherfolk throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union Limited launched the Fleet Expansion Program on 2nd June, 2022.
Minister Caesar at the programme’s launch said the initiative seeks to advance the cause for diversification in the fisheries sector.
