Edwin D Laynes and Sons Limited has stepped to assist following the aftermath of Category Hurricane Beryl.

Chief Executive Officer of Laynes Mr. Wayne Alexander, during a call to WE FM’s Issue At Hand program on Sunday provided details on the company’s efforts so far.

He disclosed that they had adopted the shelter located at the Calliaqua Anglican School, which he notes, is known to be housing a large number of evacuated residents from Beryl-impacted Grenadine islands.

Mr. Alexander says that the company has already given its first four disbursements to the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO). According to the Laynes CEO, this first disbursement is $5000, and was deposited in the NEMO account a local grocery store.

Also included in their relief efforts so far, is the sending of hardware supplies such as wheelbarrows, chainsaws, impact hammers and more to hurricane devastated Union Island.

Laynes has also pledged to donate a percentage of their net profit from sales between now and August 31st 2024, to hurricane relief efforts here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The company’s CEO in emphasizing their solidarity with those affected by impact of Hurricane Beryl, expressed his own personal commitment to relief effort, in the form of offering housing to two students from the Grenadines.
