The Ministry of Health is warning the public against mixing household cleaning chemicals, saying the practice can be dangerous.
In a public advisory, the ministry cautioned that combining products such as bleach, vinegar and disinfectants can release toxic fumes.
Health officials say inhaling these fumes may cause breathing difficulties, chest irritation, and burns to the eyes and skin, especially in people with pre-existing conditions.
The ministry is reminding residents that household cleaners are designed to be used on their own, and mixing them can reduce effectiveness while putting families at serious risk.
