The government has already allocated over $7 million in production support to various sectors affected by Hurricane Beryl.
A total of 221 arrowroot farmers, more than 2,000 banana and plantain farmers, and nearly 300 fishing boat owners have benefited from this assistance.
Additional support has been approved for farmers of other commodities and more fishers with boats.
These payments are expected to be rolled out before the end of 2024, further aiding those impacted by the storm and boosting recovery efforts in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
