Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves says that the situation that SVG is currently in is a very difficult one, based on the various the challenges the country has been faced with. He made the statement while speaking on radio.
“It is difficult, it ain’t make sense I mince words to you, we are in a difficult situation.” He said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves then went on to discuss some of the factors that lead him this situation as difficult.
“Having to provide food for the thousands of persons who have evacuated, both in homes, private homes, and in the shelters, and the medical services and all the other support systems, is herculean, and we ain’t talking recovery yet.” Gonsalves.
Even though the Prime Minister said that they had not started talking recovery, he said that it is already being thought of. Gonsalves that the road to recovery will be challenging, but if social solidarity is maintained all should be well.
The Prime Minister promised the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines that he will do his best in this difficult situation.
