Police are investigating a motor vehicle accident which occurred around 7:50 Monday morning, January 19, along the South Union Public Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that a red Toyota minivan travelling along the roadway experienced mechanical difficulties, causing the vehicle to collide with a utility pole and overturn.
Several occupants sustained injuries in the accident and were transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. Police say at least seven persons are currently listed in critical condition.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force continues investigations into the incident and is urging motorists to exercise caution, ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition, and adhere to road safety practices.
