The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force says nine traffic accidents were reported across the country over the weekend.

Speaking during WE FM’s Traffic Talk programme, Sergeant 374 King of the Traffic Department said two of the accidents involved injuries.

One male driver sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalised at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, while a female passenger suffered minor injuries and has since been treated and discharged.

Sergeant King is urging motorists to remain alert and avoid distractions, particularly the use of cell phones while driving.

He reminded drivers that adherence to traffic laws is key to reducing accidents on the nation’s roads.
