Julian Francis has demitted office as senator and Minister of Minister of Urban Development, Energy, Airports, Seaports, Grenadines Affairs and Local Government.
This was announced by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves on radio earlier this morning.
“Julian Francis demitted office yesterday, formally with effect last night, and demitted office as senator and Minister and a young thirty three year old professional woman will be sworn in today as senator and as Minister of Urban Development, Seaports, Seaports Administration, Grenadines Affairs and Local Government,” he said.
Benarva Browne, at a swearing ceremony held later in the morning was sworn in as a senator and new Minister of Urban Development.
Minister Browne holds a master’s degree in town and country planning (MPLAN) from the University of the West of England (UWE).
Prime Minister Gonsalves said Senator Francis will now serve as an advisor to the Government.
