Area Representative for Central Leeward, Conroy Huggins, says long-promised infrastructure upgrades in Barrouallie are now becoming a reality.

He confirmed that BRAGSA is currently resurfacing the Bottle and Glass Community Road, from Sileema Shop to the Blackfish Processing Facility, describing it as one of the first projects he committed to delivering for the area.

Huggins, who is also SVG’s Fisheries Minister announced that work is about to begin on restoring the sea defence at the Blackfish Processing Facility, which was damaged during Hurricane Beryl in July 2024.

He said once those works are completed, the facility will be officially opened, bringing improved conditions and renewed activity for fish vendors and processors in Barrouallie.
