Governor General Her Excellency Dame Susan Dougan will relinquish office on January 5, 2026.
The announcement was made today on NBC Radio. Dame Susan, the first woman to serve as Governor General of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, took office on August 1, 2019.
A respected educator and public servant, she served as the British Crown’s representative and Head of State.
No announcement has yet been made on who will succeed her, as the government continues its transition process.
