Governor General of SVG, Dame Dr. Susan Dougan, is encouraging political parties to remain respectful during the election process.
In her Christmas message to the nation, Her Excellency urged all parties to “conduct this exercise with the highest level of respect and that the democratic process will be the winner.”
The Governor General noted that she is fully aware of the competitiveness that the process will foster and the hurtful exchanges which may take place.
Vincentians are expected to go to the polls next year for the general elections which are constitutionally due in November.
Four political parties are expected to contest: ULP, NDP, UPP and NLM.
