Belair has been announced the winner of the National Independence Committee’s 2023 Best Village Competition.

Green House Lab SVG of Belair took the first-place position with 252 points, followed by Rocks & Plan Trendsetters of Redemption Sharpes in 2nd with 176 points and Coull’s Hill Rangers in 3rd with 152 points.

Villages were also awarded for having the best kept surroundings. Point’s New Foundation Group placed first in this category with 260 points. Donna and Alphie Bennet of Vermont were right behind them in second with 253 points.

Olivia DaSilva of Cane End came out on top in the Best Flower Garden category with 258 points. The Sandi Lane Garden in Fountain amassed 233 points, nabbing the second-place spot; and Kingstown’s Marci and Zimron, with 108 points placed third.

The Best Village Competition returned this year as a part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Independence Celebration after an absence of more than two decades.
