A manhunt is underway for a gunman who killed a US news reporter and photographer on live television this morning during a live TV interview outside Moneta, Virginia.
WDBJ7 TV reporter Alison Parker, age 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, age 27, were killed during an interview with a woman at about 6:45 this morning, the TV station said.
A man, apparently a disgruntled former employee of the TV station, uploaded a video of himself shooting the reporter at close range on social media.
According to BBC News, Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has named the suspect as Vester Lee Flanagan. He is a former WDBJ7 staff member and described as a “person of interest”. His Twitter account has now been suspended.
