The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday paid tribute to three leaders, who contributed to the Independence of Venezuela.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Embassy on Murray Road, Yuri Pimentel, Ambassador of Venezuela to St. Vincent and the Grenadines said the lives of Liberator Simon Bolivar, former president of Venezuela, the Late Hugo Chavez, and former Cuban President, the late Fidel Castro, all struggled for Independence and integration, for the people of Venezuela.

Ambassador Pimentel outlined several programmes initiated by the former leaders, such as the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), PetroCaribe and the Miracle Mission Eye Vision programme of which St. Vincent and the Grenadines and other Caribbean countries are beneficiaries.

Ambassador Pimentel thanked the government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for supporting the Venezuelan government throughout its struggles this year, and said he looks forward to having the relations strengthened in the coming year.
