The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through the Dubai Cares has donated US $500, 000 towards the Zero Hunger Trust Fund (ZHTF) here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Dubai Cares is a philanthropic organization working to provide children and young people in developing countries with access to quality education.

The Zero Hunger Trust Fund has been designed by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to assist children from communities with the highest levels of poverty, with meals and other basic necessities to ensure that they attend school regularly.

Speaking at a ceremony this morning at Cabinet Room where the governments of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the UAE signed a visa waiver agreement, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said this is the second such donation that Dubai Cares has made to the Zero Hunger Trust Fund.

Dubai Cares had made a grant contribution of US $500,000 to the Zero Hunger Trust Fund in 2017.
