Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Camillo Gonsalves says a two-prong program for security and safety will be developed here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Minister Gonsalves recently returned to the state from Taiwan where he held discussions with an entity called Systems and Technology Corporation (STC) and the International cooperation and development fund (ICDF).

Speaking at a press conference on Monday afternoon, Minister Gonsalves said part of the program is focused entirely on minibuses and is called the Ebus Program which is expected to take off early next year.

Minister Gonsalves said commuters will be able to access information about the Ebus program using an app on their mobile phone.

The Minister said there has already been an initial conversation with the minibus association notifying them as to what the government wants to do and to start with a pilot project early in 2019.
