A police officer in Trinidad and Tobago was robbed at a supermarket, located along New Colonial Road, Barrackpore Tuesday evening.

According to reports, he entered the establishment around 7pm when it was being robbed by three armed, masked men.

The officer, who is a corporal attached to Trinidad’s South Western Division, was immediately confronted by one of the suspects.

The individual placed a firearm on the officer’s waist and proceeded to rob him of a side bag he was carrying which contained a TTPS-issued firearm, his police Identification card, and badge, cash, and other items.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot.

The officer called for backup and attempted to follow the men, who reportedly ran into some bushes off the roadway.
