Police in Jamaica have confirmed that three people were killed during a shooting incident on Sunday which prematurely ended the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass rally in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, St. James.

According to the Jamaica Gleaner, the three were understood to be among at least five people who were shot during the incident.

However, there was no information as to what caused the shooting and whether those who were shot were part of the rally or invaders.

According to initial reports, several explosions rang out while Opposition Leader Andrew Holness was making his presentation.
