Thieves have struck once again at the National Society of and for the Blind, located at Frenches Gate, in the building that houses the Headquarters of the Lions Club Kingstown.

Stanley Richards, the Person in Charge at the facility told WEFM News earlier today that the first break-in occurred on the Independence Day weekend in October, while the most recent incident occurred between last Friday night November 24, and early Saturday morning November 25.

Mr. Richards said that each end of month the organization provides food packages for persons who are blind and in need, and it was the food supplies for those parcels that have been stolen on both occasions.

Mr. Richards said that while reports of the incidents were made to the Police, so far no one has been arrested in connection with the burglaries.

He is issuing a strong appeal to the perpetrator or perpetrators of these incidents to desist from doing so, since it is affecting the organization from meeting the needs of vulnerable and needy individuals.
