The Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will on Monday August 28, 2017, officially hand over a quantity of 10 school buses to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

At a Press Conference held on August 8, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves announced that the 10 buses will be leased to persons to operate and transport children in several routes at the opening of the school term on Monday September 4, 2017.

Persons wishing to lease the school buses had until Monday August 21 to submit “Expression of interest for the lease of School buses” to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government.

Meanwhile, Monday’s handing over ceremony will also feature the launch of 24 agricultural machineries under a special project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation.

Prime Minister Gonsalves will deliver the Feature Address, with other addresses to come from the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) H.E. Ambassador Der-li Liu; Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar; and Minister of Transport, Works, Urban Development and Local Government, Julian Francis.

The handing over ceremony takes place at the E.T. Joshua Parking Lot at 3:00pm on Monday.
